RideRadar Privacy Policy

RideRadar records your rides and shows nearby curated routes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not show ads, we do not use behavioral tracking, and we are built around a safety-first design.

Data we collect

• Location data. With your permission, the app uses location (When-In-Use, Always, and in the background) to record your rides and to show nearby curated routes. Background and Always access is used so a ride can be recorded continuously while the app is not in the foreground.
• Account. You sign in via Firebase Authentication using an email address or anonymously. If you start anonymously, credential linking lets you attach an email later so your existing rides are preserved.
• Ride and profile data. Ride polylines and statistics and your profile are stored in Firestore so they sync to your account.
• Community contributions. If you choose to contribute, route reviews and hazard reports you submit are stored to improve curated routes for other riders.

RideRadar explicitly does not collect or provide crowdsourced police or speed-trap data, and it includes no speed gamification.

How we use it

Data is used only to provide the app's functionality: recording and displaying your rides, computing ride statistics, surfacing nearby curated routes, and sharing community contributions you choose to submit. We do not profile your behavior and we do not use your data for advertising.

Third parties / processors

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication (email or anonymous) and Cloud Firestore for ride polylines, statistics, profile, and community contributions.

There is no behavioral tracking, no IDFA / App Tracking Transparency advertising identifier use, and no ads. We do not sell personal data.

Data retention & deletion

Your rides, profile, and contributions are retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account from within the app, after which the associated data is removed from our Firebase backend.

Children

RideRadar is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google's Firebase infrastructure with authenticated access scoped to your account.
